Ashlyn has been telling me for about two weeks that she wants to grow up to be a fire fighter. Well, it just so happens that one of my brothers is a Captain in the Chandler Fire Department. So we called him up and asked him to give us a little tour of his fire station. It was awesome! Darrell gave the girls each a fireman hat, lots of stickers, safety DVDs, coloring books, crayons, safety fliers to hand out to our neighbors, etc. Then we took a tour of the station - we saw where the firemen cooked and ate their meals, the workout room, the big screen tv with xbox, and the dormitories (Darrell and his crew work two days on - 48 hours straight - and four days off). Kayla was so disappointed that there was no pole to slide down.
Next came the tour of the fire engine. It was amazing!! Darrell showed us how to use the water hose and explained what all the different equipment was used for. We even got to go for a ride in the fire engine (I kept giggling because it really was a cool experience!)

How fun! My husband is a Captain in Mesa and my kids still LOVE to go to the station and "check" everything out. Glad your girls had fun!
